1. Who we are

Happy Home, Evelyn Roca, Gartenstrasse 10, 8002 Zürich, Switzerland, is responsible for the processing of your personal data described here. Happy Home is a licensed private placement agency for household staff. Questions about data protection: privacy@happyhome.ch.

2. What we collect and why

2.1 Website visits. Our servers record technical data when you visit this website (IP address, date and time, pages requested, browser type). We use it only to run and secure the site. We do not use cookies, advertising or analytics tools. To display our typefaces, your browser loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means your IP address is transmitted to Google.

2.2 Private consultation enquiries. If you write to us as a family or household, we receive what you enter: your name, how to reach you, the role you are looking for, where you live, the start date and anything you tell us about your household and your wishes. We use it to reply to you, to understand your needs and to find suitable candidates.

2.3 Candidate applications. If you apply as a candidate, we receive your name, email, telephone number, the role you seek and the CV you upload, together with everything it contains (for example your work history, languages, address, date of birth or photograph). With your consent we also verify references, your public online presence and your criminal record. We use this to assess you for suitable positions and to present you, with your agreement, to families.

2.4 Other messages. If you reach us by email, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Facebook or Instagram, we process your message and the details you send in the same way.

2.5 Job alerts. If you subscribe to our job alerts, including by ticking the box on the application form, we store your email address and send you emails about new positions. Every email contains an unsubscribe link.

3. Legal basis

We process your data to carry out your request and to prepare or perform a contract (placement), on the basis of your consent where we ask for it (for example the checks and the job alerts), to comply with legal duties, and for our legitimate interest in running and securing our business. You may withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future.

4. Who receives your data

We share data only as far as needed:

• Families and candidates. A family sees a candidate’s profile only when you have agreed to be introduced; a candidate learns details of a household only once a placement is being considered.

• Service providers that operate our systems: our server host (Hetzner, Germany), email and calendar (Microsoft Outlook), messaging (WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram) and an artificial-intelligence service (xAI, USA), which we use to read and summarise CVs and enquiries. Results are always reviewed by a person; no automated decision about you is taken without human review.

• Authorities, where the law requires it.

We do not sell personal data.

5. Transfers abroad

Some providers are located outside Switzerland, in the EU/EEA and in the USA. Where the country has no recognised level of data protection, we rely on safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

6. Retention

We keep enquiries and applications for as long as needed for the placement and for our legal duties, and then delete or anonymise them. Candidates who are not currently being considered stay in our files for later positions unless they ask us to delete their data. Job-alert addresses are kept until you unsubscribe.

7. Security

We protect your data with technical and organisational measures: encrypted connections, access restricted to authorised persons and secured storage. No transmission over the internet is completely secure.

8. Your rights

You may request access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, and the handing over of your data, and you may object to processing. Write to privacy@happyhome.ch. You may also complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or, if you live in the EU/EEA, to your local supervisory authority.

9. Changes

We update this policy when our services or the law change. The current version is always on this page.
